IK LAB - Contemporary Art Gallery
CreativeIK LAB is a pioneering contemporary art gallery located within the Azulik resort in Tulum, Quintana Roo. Opened in April 2018, this eco-conscious space was designed to foster creativity and vision across the Yucatan peninsula by showcasing prominent international artists.
Under the direction of Santiago Rumney Guggenheim and created by Jorge Eduardo Neira Sterkel, IK LAB transcends traditional gallery confines with its unique organic architecture. The design features meandering spaces, circular windows framing the jungle, and floors made of bejuco wood that invite visitors to walk barefoot, creating a meditative connection between art, the viewer, and nature.
The gallery hosts groundbreaking exhibitions, such as the inaugural "Alignments" featuring works by Tatiana Trouvé, Artur Lescher, and Margo Trushina. These installations explore metaphysical realms through suspended sculptures, fluid marble pieces, and massive pendulum installations within sacred geometry domes.
